OneBoard Module
Workflow-Based Zero-Touch Provisioning. Extend foundation ZTP with in-band provisioning, multi-step workflows with automatic rollback, and integration plugins to onboard devices end-to-end without manual intervention.
Features
Go beyond initial configuration push with multi-step provisioning workflows, automatic rollback on failure, and extensible integration plugins.
Provision devices through the management network or the production network, covering every deployment scenario including environments without a dedicated management plane.
Build provisioning as ordered sequences of discrete steps, each with its own success criteria. Create reusable templates per device role or site type to standardize onboarding.
Automatic rollback reverts devices to their pre-provisioning state when any step fails, preventing half-configured devices from entering the network.
Extend workflows with plugins for neighbor management, inventory registration, or build custom plugins for any integration requirement.
Automatically register provisioned devices in the Network Inventory and validate post-provisioning state against expected baselines via the State Engine.
Real-time progress dashboard, full provisioning history with step-by-step detail, and a complete audit trail for compliance and change management.
Management-network-only provisioning
ZTP only works over the management plane. Sites without a dedicated management network require manual device configuration on-site.
In-band and out-of-band provisioning
Provision devices through the production network or the management network. Every deployment scenario is covered, no manual intervention needed.
Failed provisioning leaves broken devices
When a provisioning step fails, the device is left in a partial or unknown state. An engineer must manually intervene to recover it.
Automatic rollback to known-good state
When any step fails, the device is automatically reverted to its pre-provisioning state with validated rollback, preventing half-configured devices from entering the network.
Manual post-provisioning tasks
After ZTP completes, operators must manually register the device in inventory, configure neighbors, and enroll it in monitoring systems.
Automated end-to-end integration
Integration plugins handle neighbor management, inventory registration, and monitoring onboarding as native workflow steps. The device is fully operational from day one.
No audit trail for provisioning
Provisioning outcomes are tracked in spreadsheets or not at all. When a device misbehaves, there is no record of exactly what was applied and when.
Full provisioning audit trail
Every provisioning attempt is recorded with step-by-step detail, operator identity, and outcome. Real-time dashboards and alerting keep the team informed.
